I serve as a consultant for a pilot project in the Bolnisi region of Georgia (Kvemo Kartli). I have collected data from over twenty wineries, including product metadata and winemaker narratives. After crafting written narratives, I support landing page creation and data management, maintaining and uploading over 10,000 data points consisting of digital IDs, wine lot numbers, and product metadata. The final product includes “landing pages” with block chain data, as can be seen through scanning (or clicking on) the QR code below.

The project also aims to showcase Bolnisi’s rich winemaking heritage, tracing the origins of these current Bolnisi winemakers to their ancestors and material heritage, much of which has strong ties to Swabian German immigration, resulting in regionally-distinctive contemporary winemaking approaches such as fermentation in oak barrels or large oak vats.
